Many of you knew our mom simply as Becky... She had so many other nicknames through the years- Beck, Ma Ruggiero, Mrs. R, MA, Mama Dukes, Nom Nom even one of her favorites, Maukonk. But to us she was simply..... Mommy. She was the person everyone knew they could turn to. The one who cleaned our cuts, iced our bruises, sat with us in the hosptial, wiped our tears and made us strong. She was unconditionally selfless. She would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. She opened her house to everyone. Her fridge was stocked to feed anyone we knew. Her oven ready to feed an army. She made our house a "home" to anyone who walked in it. She was the person our friends would come to just to sit and talk, ask for advise or if they simply needed a place to stay. She was our rock. Our foundation. She never stopped worrying about us. She didn't go to sleep until every child was safe at home. As we grew older and had families of our own, our children essentially became hers too. She helped raise everyone of them. From picking them up at school, changing diapers, feeding and bathing, helping with school work or simply just holding them singing her infamous "Nawny Nawn" lullaby. The sun rose and set with her grandchildren. Our Mom was a pistol though. She was the loudest one at our sport and school functions. She told you how it was, even if your heart would break. But she would back it up by holding you close to her while you cried. She was the life of the party, always ready to sing and dance. She blasted her music in her car like she was at a concert and never fell short of making sure you sung with her. She was strong in her convictions and never wavered from them. She was proud of her country and made damn well sure everyone knew it. To our Mom, Family was the most important thing. She and Daddy would always say" It doesn't matter if you have all the Money in the world.... Our family is what makes us richer than anyone." She was and always will be right. Each of us is who we are today because of her. She was our best friend. She was the person we called everyday to laugh with, vent to, cry to or simply say I love you..... To the world she may have been one person, but to us she was the world. And it will never be the same. May she always be with us and continue to give us the strength we will need. May she always send us love from above and watch over us as she always had. May she always be beautiful and smiling, how we will always remember her. We love you Mommy.....More than you will ever know. Always and forever your babies...
